Ungodly Soul Tie
When Joseph[1] came to our ministry, he was in deep mental and emotional turmoil. He shared that both he and his wife were into drugs, alcohol, and witchcraft. A few years ago, he left his wife to live with a woman who was a witch. Infidelity is the norm with those involved in witchcraft; this form of coercion and power controls another human being for personal gain and draws them deeper into Satanic darkness. God intercepted this downward spiral for Joseph as I shared the power of the gospel to save, heal, and deliver. He responded and asked Jesus into his heart. The Holy Spirit brought him under conviction to leave this sinful relationship and go back to his wife.
He confessed and repented of his sin of adultery and witchcraft, but he also told us he didn’t love his wife anymore. He was still drawn to this woman thinking it was ‘love’, not realizing it was a spirit of lust pulling him back to her. The perversion of sex and witchcraft trapped his soul. He allowed her to dominate him. She took possession of him and held him under her spell so that even when he broke off the relationship, it continued to exercise control over him. In Proverbs 6:26 AMP, we read, “the adulteress stalks and snares [as with a hook] the precious life [of a man].” This demonic soul tie and stronghold needed to be broken. When a person enters into illicit, intimate sexual relationships, they give evil spirits the right to torment them and bring dire consequences. This soulish connection must be destroyed.
I commanded that stronghold to be broken off in Jesus’ Name. The Holy Spirit showed me a silhouette of a woman stepping out from inside of his body, and it turned and looked at me. It was a sharp picture of a beautiful woman with brown hair. I told Joseph the detail of what I was seeing, and he said it was the woman he was with for the past two years. I commanded her to walk away and never return. He began crying, saying that all of a sudden, he felt an overwhelming love for his wife again. This spirit of witchcraft had captured and deceptively manipulated his affections until we removed it. Joseph’s story is a real-life testimony of the power an ungodly soul tie will have on a person when they succumb to sinful relationships. The only way to break this bondage is to repent and seek deliverance through the love and power of the Lord Jesus Christ.
Can a man take fire to his bosom and his clothes not be burned? Proverbs 6:27 NKJV
So, put to death and deprive of power the evil longings of your earthly body [with its sensual, self-centered instincts] immorality, impurity, sinful passion, evil desire, and greed, which is [a kind of] idolatry [because it replaces your devotion to God]. Colossians 3:5 AMP
