Unforgiveness is an area in life we all struggle with; it affects our whole being when we harbor it in our hearts against others. Jesus tells us how essential it is to forgive all wrongs suffered. He answered Peter’s question, "Lord, how many times will my brother sin against me, and I forgive him and let it go? Up to seven times?" And Jesus responded with, “I say to you, not up to seven times, but seventy times seven.”1 (This number is a metaphor for an attitude of forgiveness that is limitless.) Jesus taught the disciples and us this: “For if you forgive others their trespasses [their reckless and willful sins], your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive others [nurturing your hurt and anger with the results that it interferes with your relationship with God], then your Father will not forgive your trespasses.”
